Differences Press to Handstand

Let's start with a premise, both executions end with a Handstand so the press to handstand is complete.

What makes the difference is that very often the focus is on lifting the legs off the ground, moving them away from the torso.

If you have a lot of strength, it will still be possible to achieve the press to Handstand even if it is not very energy efficient.

However, if you don't have a lot of shoulder strength, it is crucial to understand the work of horizontal push of the arms and the work of compressing the legs onto the torso.

With this second execution, the press to Handstand is reached sooner because it makes the body more compact and with a shorter lever, unlike the first execution (longer lever).
